Vibrant, Visual, Videographers: Mr and Mrs Productions
Welcome back to the Bodleian Blog! Today we’re focusing on capturing the importance of videography at your wedding and why it’s worth factoring into your overall wedding budget.
Imagine, the big day has arrived, but it soon flashes past and you’ve barely had the opportunity to process just how amazing the day was. Your eyes and memory won’t retain every little detail, but the videographer certainly will. Their high-end filming equipment and expertise will focus on every important moment: the first kiss, your grand entrance into the wedding reception, the burst and swell of applause when your best man delivers the most heart-warming speech. Every emotion and reaction will be felt when the final version has been sent to you. Videographers work by highlighting the best and most important moments: Your actual vows, a soft and romantic focus on the florals, a close-up of smiles, rings, party shoes. They will even work with you to find a perfect choice of music to accompany the video footage. You will be able to witness a highly sentimental and beautiful moment in time every time you press play. So without further ado, please read on to find out more about Mr and Mrs Productions…
Mr and Mrs Productions
Mr and Mrs Productions are a wonderful team of two: married couple, Charlotte and Chris, who are based in Painswick, Gloucestershire. Rather impressively, 2020 marks the ten-year anniversary of their company. So, when did they first realise that their careers would venture into wedding videography?
Behind the scenes….
Mr and Mrs Productions start by organising a phone call or videocall with their clients. It’s a great opportunity for them to learn about the couple’s wedding plans. Once these details have been discussed, the team will carefully decide how they are going to capture the day. So how long do they film for on the big day?
Post-wedding day, Chris then takes the footage and uses his excellent editing skills to put together the main wedding film in the space of two weeks. Since this is a lengthy process, this means that the couple are only able to take on a certain amount of films a year. In the main film, Mr and Mrs Productions create a story of the couple’s day. The montage is set to music (chosen by the couple) and the main film includes the following:
-Full ceremony
-Speeches
-Messages from friends and family
Following on from this, Chris then makes the highlights film – which is a wonderful way to share the wedding day with friends and family online.
Important moments to capture…
Style…
Charlotte and Chris believe that filming unobtrusively, as the day unfolds, is the most effective way to gain natural shots. They have often been told that by the end of the wedding day, everyone has forgotten that they were even there! The couple have evenly split roles on the day: Charlotte films on a long lens, so she captures natural moments when guests do not realise they are being filmed, while Chris is often on the steady cam wandering around between guests and capturing everything going on.
Just Weddings?
When the couple are not filming or editing wedding videos, they are fully engaged in their other part of the business: ‘A Day in the Life.’ This project is a great opportunity to return to previous clients, many of which have had children, and would like Charlotte and Chris to capture the precious and priceless moments of their children.
Until next time…
