
Reintroducing the Bodleian Team
Hello from the Bodleian Wedding Team! It has been three years since our previous post, so we felt that an update was well overdue.
As you read this post, some of you may be thinking ‘Okay, this sounds great, but what is it you guys do again?’ Well, our roles, especially during the current period of national lock-down, is to hopefully remind you that while the world stands still, wedding planning does not have to. We are keen to do everything we can to excite, inspire and prepare you for your wedding day.
Who are we?
The Bodleian team has shifted quite a lot since our previous update. We are now a team of three, while Hannah, our Events and Marketing Officer has left for a secondment. So, the team members currently working in the Venue Services Events team are Kate del Nevo, Megan Ratcliffe and Martha Bagnall.
A little bit about us:
Kate del Nevo: Events and Marketing Manager
“My role is to lead the team in the sales and marketing of the Bodleian as a Wedding Venue. I love meeting wedding couples and helping them create their dream wedding in the truly unique setting of the Divinity School. Every time I walk into the room it never fails to put a smile on face and I feel so lucky to work at the Bodleian. We also get to work with amazing local wedding suppliers and seeing what they do in the space is truly inspiring.”

Megan Ratcliffe: Events Coordinator
“My love for the Bodleian developed back in 2018, when I helped to assist the weddings. I was struck by the complexities of the venue: how by day the Divinity School is a room filled with tour groups and by night it is teeming with partying wedding guests. My role as an Events Coordinator is so varied, as no two weddings are ever completely the same. During the planning process, I enjoy learning that each wedding couple has their own form of inspiration for their wedding style, and I’m always amazed to witness the transformation of all three rooms on the big day!”

Martha Bagnall: Events Coordinator
“My role is an Events Coordinator and I help with new event bookings and maintaining our social media channels.
I started working at the Bodleian Libraries only a month ago, but I’m excited to start working with couples to create their perfect wedding. At the moment, I’m overseeing our ‘Virtual Bodleian Showcase’ to help highlight all our amazing suppliers. I’m looking forward to learning all about coordinating events, while also discovering more about the Bodleian. I can’t wait to watch an event come alive in this magnificent setting!”

What can we do for you?
So enough about us, this is after all, your wedding day! How will we guide you through the booking and planning process?
Booking your wedding – Kate and Martha will provide you with all the information you will need before you decide to hold a date with us. They will send you a weddings brochure (containing all our supplier information), a map of the venue, and a reservation form.
Planning your wedding – In the post-booking stage, Megan and/or Martha will contact you three months before your wedding date. They will design an event schedule and will ask you to fill this out ahead of your details meeting. The details meeting is where all the magic comes together. Timings, details, and event logistics will all be discussed. Many couples are amazed how real their wedding day feels after this meeting!
Running your wedding – The big day arrives! One, if not two of our familiar faces will be moving here, there, and everywhere, with the sole intention to direct, guide and oversee your day. Most importantly, we want to make sure you’re happy with the day and are having a truly memorable time.
So, there you have it. A re-introduction to the Bodleian Weddings team, and an opportunity to gain more of an insight into who we are, why we’re doing what we’re doing, and how we work at the venue. We cannot wait to resume to a brighter and healthier future, with ample weddings, smiles and hugs!
