Welcome back to the Bodleian Wedding Blog! Is anyone else exhausted after this week? The UK government announcements on Monday 22 were certainly on everyone’s minds. As a team, we noticed a large influx of enquiries and many of our current couples now plan on moving their dates later into 2021. With the roadmap in place, we are hopeful that the summer can go according to plan. Until then, we have a very exciting blog post coming right your way…
Putting on a show
Visitor attractions and venues will not start to re-open until April 2021. So, if you’re at the initial stages of wedding planning and are currently unable to visit your potential wedding venue, then you have our sympathy! Getting a feel for your wedding venue is very important. However, wedding plans soon grind to a halt when you cannot view your venue. We recognise the frustration that comes from this, and we hear you. For that reason, the Bodleian’s Wedding Showcase on Thursday 11 March 2021 is all about bringing the venue to you. We will be working with THAT Event Company to live-stream the virtual showcase to you, our wonderful viewers, from the comfort of your own home.
What to expect?
It goes without saying that presenting a pre-recorded showcase is a first for us. Yes, the nerves were in full-swing, and yes, it does get a bit cheesy at times, but the sentiment is there at least. In pre-pandemic times, on the night of a Wedding Showcase, we would invite you to the venue, where you would have the opportunity to see the Bodleian, walk around, talk to us, and meet some of our recommended suppliers. This time around, the live showcase will enable you to view the venue from the comfort of your own home, and ask us questions throughout.
