It’s all about the dress…
After Kate & Wills tied the knot in 2011, Pippa Middleton stole the limelight for her pert derrière and beautiful dress. So it was only natural that everyone was waiting to see what the beautiful socialite was to wear on her own wedding day!
Pippa arrived today at her wedding ceremony in the most beautiful high neck lace dress, that had been crafted to look as though it had no seams, flowing effortlessly behind her whilst clinging in all the right places.
This classic, clean and elegant look has inspired us to write about all the wedding dress trends that are hitting us this year and we have quite a variety!
- Lace
So we know that lace wedding dresses have always been in fashion. A very traditional look, that many celebrities have gone for in the past few years. The level of detail that goes into any lace dress can change the style in an instant. Whether all over lace, large lace details or the very subtle hints of lace, we love it all. This intricate but subtle look is one that will stay in the British wedding industry for many decades to come. Lace has been worn by the likes of Amal Clooney, Michelle Keegan and of course, Kate Middleton!
2. The detail is in the back
What better way to make a statement when you’re walking down the aisle? The back of a dress is definitely as important as the front, and this is really showing in the 2017 wedding dress trends. With a range of cut out backs, lace, bows and draping styles, the low back statement dress is really making a name for itself in the 2017 Wedding industry.
3. Bows
Another style that is cropping up is the bow detail on dresses. Whether at the front, side or back, they are making an appearance everywhere this year. It’s a very simple and elegant way to add a bit of detail to a dress, and make it more interesting. Depending on how daring you are feeling, you could go for a bow that dominates the whole style of the dress. Keeping in theme with another trend, I love this low back bow dress.
4. Individual styles
Not everyone wants that classic English white or ivory wedding dress with clean lines and diamonds. Some love to stand out from the crowd and try something new, which is another big trend for 2017. Gone are the days of ‘you must wear a white dress’ on your wedding day. Society is a lot more accepting of something new a different, so why not apply this to the biggest day of your life to make a big statement! We are thinking blush pink dresses, floral details and hi-low hems. Take a look at our faves for this year.
